Today, given the evolution and performance of means of communication, it is a question of setting up the DME. We initiated this study, the general objective of which was to study the acceptability and availability of practitioners to use the electronic medical record in the CHUs of Côte d'Ivoire.MethodsWe conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study on the electronic medical record. It went on for a month. A sample of 423 agents was constituted at the rate of 141 per CHU (CHU of Treichville, Cocody and Bouaké). The inclusion and non-inclusion criteria allowed us to select 227 health workers (doctors, nurses and midwives.). Epi info 2002 software and the chi-square test for statistical analysis with a significance level p<0.05 were used. For small numbers (n<5), we used Fisher's test.ResultsAlmost all respondents had accepted the electronic medical record and thought it would be useful for them with 96.5% and 94.7% respectively. Respondents thought that the electronic medical file could facilitate scientific research and accessibility of the file everywhere with respectively 71.8% and 72.2%. Almost all of the respondents reported that the electronic medical record would improve their activities and would be important to them. There was no statistical link between the age group and the acceptance or not of the electronic medical record, between the profession and the acceptance or not of the electronic medical record. Seniority did not statistically influence the acceptance or not of the Internet at risk α (5%).ConclusionThe electronic medical record has existed for some time in the West. It is about its implementation in Côte d'Ivoire. All the nursing staff are in favor of it. However, health workers would like a gradual implementation.
<CompanyAddress/><CompanyPhone/><CompanyFax/><CompanyEmail/></CoverPageProperties>
