How to understand that practice is the only criterion for testing truth?

Standard of practice is a long - term issue in the history of philosophy. Some use sensory experience as the standard, and some use reason as the standard. Starting from the scientific practice view, he thought that man should prove the truth of his thinking in practice and pointed out that practice was the only standard to test truth.

The reason that practice is the sole criterion for testing truth is determined by the nature of truth and the characteristics of practice. Truth is the correspondence between subjective and objective knowledge. To judge whether the subjective and objective are consistent, we must make the subjective and objective contrast and comparison. It is only practice that can link subjectivity and objectivity together and compare them. Practice is the bridge connecting and communicating subjectivity and objectivity, and it is the subjectivity and objectivity. Practice has the characteristics of direct reality, it can turn the correct theory into reality, so as to prove the truth of cognition with the results of practice.

The standard of practice does not exclude logical proof. Logical proof is the means of proving the truth. Without the help of logical proof, it is impossible to fully confirm or refute a theoretical principle with concrete practice. Logical proof is the logical supplement of practice test and cannot replace practice standard. The premises, concepts, principles and rules used in logical proof must be tested in practice. Therefore, we cannot exaggerate the role of logical proof and deny that practice is the only criterion for testing truth.

Try to describe the practice of standard dialectics on the question of truth, and use this principle to explain the importance of emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts ideological line.

Practice is the only criterion for testing truth, which is the materialism of the criterion of truth, but practice criterion is the unity of certainty and uncertainty, which is the dialectics of the criterion of truth. Denying the certainty of the standard of practice will lead to skepticism and the subjective truth theory of idealism. If the uncertainty of practice standard is denied, it will lead to rigid thinking or dogmatism.

This principle is the important theoretical basis of the Party's ideological line of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts. Emancipating the mind is to break through the shackles of backward traditional concepts and be good at pioneering and enterprising. Seeking truth from facts means starting from the objective and practical laws and serving as the guide for our actions. Emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts are essentially the same. Truth and the criteria for testing truth are constantly changing and developing, so it is impossible to set up a forbidden area in cognition, or to become rigid and rigid in thought. As truth and the criteria for testing truth have absoluteness or certainty, the emancipation of the mind must always adhere to the principle of practical standards and seeking truth from facts, and oppose subjectivism.
