How to understand the role of class struggle and social revolution in social development?

Class struggle is an inevitable phenomenon of the objective existence of class society. Class struggle is the direct manifestation of the basic social contradictions in class society and the direct motive force for the development of class society.

The propelling effect of class struggle on the development of class society is highlighted in the replacement of social forms. Social revolution plays a huge role in promoting social development. The essence of social revolution is to replace the old social system with a new one, liberate the productive forces and promote social development. In the process of quantitative change of the same social form, class struggle forces the ruling class to adjust its economic relations and policies, thus alleviating social contradictions to a certain extent, thus promoting the development of productive forces and social progress.

The important role of social revolution in social development is shown in the following aspects: Firstly, social revolution is an important means and decisive link to realize the change of social pattern. Secondly, social revolution can give full play to the enthusiasm and great role of the people in making history. Again, the proletarian revolution will be to eliminate class confrontation, and make full use of the civilization of all mankind, promote social progress and create conditions.

Materialist view of history holds that human history is fundamentally the history of the development of production and the history created by the people as producers.

The masses constitute a historical category. The masses are the people who push forward the progress of society and history. The decisive role of the masses in creating history is mainly shown in the following aspects: First, the masses are the creators of the material wealth of the society. Second, the masses are the creators of spiritual wealth. Third, the masses are the decisive force in bringing about social change. The creation of history by the masses must be restricted by historical conditions and by the objective laws of social development.

On the basis of these principles, the Party has put forward the mass view and the mass line. Adhering to the mass view and the mass line is the basis of realizing the correct leadership of the proletarian party: the trust and support of the masses to the party is the key to the continuous victory of the socialist cause. At present, it is of great significance for Party building to carry out the masses' views and mass line consciously in practice, keep close contact with the masses, serve the people heart and soul, maintain the fine style of hard struggle and strengthen the construction of a clean government.
