Absolute self

The absolute self is the core concept of Fichte's theory of knowledge. The so-called "absolute self" is the transcendental element of all self-consciousness, that is, self-consciousness is general, and it is the transcendental logical basis of cognition. For Fichte, not only is the form of knowledge, as Kant says, grounded and premised on the Ego, but the content of knowledge, the empirical matter, is also the product of the Ego, and thus the Absolute Ego is the ground of all reality. "Absolute self" is the highest basis and starting point of knowledge.

Absolute identity

"Absolute identity" is a philosophical concept of German philosopher Schelling. In his view, philosophy, as Fichte said, should be a unified system based on a supreme principle, but the absolute self cannot be this supreme principle. The supreme principle of philosophy must be primary and unconditional, while the absolute ego is conditional. Ego always stands in opposition to a non-ego, which is not enough to serve as the first principle of philosophy. The true supreme principle can only be the absolute itself, which is unconditional and undifferentiated. It is neither subject nor object, but only absolute identity. This, however, sets up an unbridgeable gulf between the world of difference and the undifferentiated absolute.

Entity is the subject

"Substance is subject" is the philosophical proposition of German classical philosopher Hegel. He held that we should not only understand and express the most real existence of the universe as substance, but also as subject, that is to say, the basis of the unity of all things in the universe is both objective and dynamic, and therefore is a process of self movement, self development and self completion.Subjectivity of substance is expressed in its pure negation; it is the process by which the single thing splits into two, that is, it sets itself up as the opposite, and then suspends the difference in itself, so that it returns to itself and becomes real. It takes the end point as the starting point, takes the end point as the purpose, only reaches the end point to become the reality. Although Hegel's theory of "substance is subject" is objective idealism, it also contains rich dialectical thoughts.
